  I’ve been painting with watercolor for a few decades now. I love layering the colors to make them seem deeper than watercolor normally looks. Each layer of color has to be allowed to dry before another is used, so this method takes a long time. I would say this painting took a couple weeks to complete. The original is 16” x 24”
  
  I took the photo of the roses from different angles and painted the one I loved. I loved painting this because the flowers were so colorful and distinctive. I wanted a soft golden look. It was a fun painting to create and to make the colors pop.
