  There is something really special about and exotic about zebras. I think I’ve always loved painting striped things, and of course, I love animals and painting nature. One day I went out where I knew there were zebra at the zoo and took photos to paint from.
  
  I’ve been painting with watercolor for a few decades now. I love layering the colors to make them seem deeper than watercolor normally looks. Each layer of color has to be allowed to dry before another in used, so this method takes a long time. I would say this painting took a couple weeks to complete.
  
  This is an original watercolor painting on paper. The colors for the background were layered in many layers of color. The stripes on the zebra friends is not black but painted with indigo blue. It was a fun painting to create and to make colors pop. I would love to see each of these find a nice home.
  
  The paper is 22” x 30” unframed, large enough to offset a large room or put over the fireplace or couch.
  
  This painting is being sold unframed for ease of shipping.
